The No RipCast: Volume 19

This month, it's the turn of David Coleman, Joe Rivers, Sean Caldwell and Stephen Wragg in Planet Pod. Up first it's The Listening Post, with four tracks that have been tantalising our tastebuds over the past few weeks. Dave went with Weight from Mikal Cronin's highly-regarded MCII LP and Joe picked Night Mail from Inform - Educate - Entertain, the debut album by retronauts Public Service Broadcasting. Meanwhile, Stephen's been visiting the Suffolk coast with Gwyneth Herbert's The Sea Cabinet record, namely the track Sweeter, and Sean thought a band called Master Musicians Of Bukkake were entirely appropriate for discussion. Here's the video for Gnomi, taken from their new full-length, Far West.

After that we took a look a Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, not to lavish yet more praise upon it, but to ponder what its influence will be as dance music progresses in time. Finally, we preview our upcoming 'Albums of the 1990s' list with a look at a few under-appreciated gems we've rediscovered. Perhaps most shockingly though, we discover that half of the pod participants haven't got the first idea who Mansun were. Poor Mansun.
